| Renisa A. Dorner |
 |
| Renisa is a shareholder who practices primarily in the area of civil litigation with an emphasis in employment law, school law, ERISA, risk management and tort liability. Her clientele is very diverse ranging from individuals to large manufacturing corporations to school districts. Renisa is the consummate litigator who enjoys the adversarial nature of litigation, but recognizes the potential for resolution without resorting to litigation. While she enjoys the litigation process, she finds that the key to being an effective attorney is advising clients properly to reduce the potential for litigation. Renisa lectures frequently on labor and employment law topics, as well as dispute resolution and litigation topics.
Renisa is a member of Ohio State Bar Association, Toledo Bar Association, as well as the Federal Bar Association. Renisa partnered with Patty Wise to successfully run their own startup boutique employment law/litigation law firm for 11 years before joining Cooper & Walinski, LPA in December 2007.
Since Renisa’s admission to the bar, she has successfully tried cases involving contract disputes, premises liability, personal injury, employment termination, harassment, workers compensation, as well as commercial disputes. Renisa is also a Master of the Bench in the American Inns of Court - Morrison R. Waite Chapter. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Communications from Defiance College in 1985 and received her law degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1988. When she is not representing clients, she is active at her children’s schools, at Grace Church, and at other nonprofit entities, as she believes strongly in giving back to the community.
