John is a shareholder who practices primarily in criminal law, most often representing defendants charged with white collar crimes, including tax fraud, antitrust violations, mail fraud, and health care fraud. He handles criminal matters in both state and federal courts. John has litigated numerous cases involving First Amendment issues and media-related disputes. He argued before the Supreme Court of the United States in the case Marshall v. Lonberger, 103 S.Ct. 843.
John lectures frequently on issues of federal criminal law. He has served on the Criminal Justice Task Force for the Northern District of Ohio and has served as a Commissioner on the Ohio Public Defender Commission.
John is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and has been listed in the annual editions of The Best Lawyers in America in the areas of White-Collar Criminal Defense, First Amendment Law and Non-White-Collar Criminal Defense.
He received his undergraduate degree in 1968 and his law degree in 1972, both from The University of Toledo. John was Articles Editor of The University of Toledo Law Review.
