| Cary has a diverse litigation practice. His civil litigation involves a variety of commercial disputes, including contracts, civil rights, unfair business practices, trade secrets, and business-related torts. Cary also has extensive appellate experience in state and federal courts. After completing judicial clerkship in both state and federal courts, Cary served for two years as a public defender representing indigent criminal defendants in trials and appeals, including seven murder trials. He has carried Martindale-Hubbell's AV rating for over 35 years.
Cary is a member of the American Arbitration Association’s Commercial Panel of Arbitrators and the American Health Lawyers Association Panel of Neutrals. He has been listed in annual editions of The Best Lawyers in America in Commercial Litigation. He is listed also in annual editions of Ohio Super Lawyers. Cary is also a life member of the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals Judicial Conference. In 2006, he received The University of Toledo Alumni Association's Distinguished Lawyer Award.
He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio University in 1964 and a law degree summa cum laude from The University of Toledo College of Law in 1969. Cary was Research Editor of The University of Toledo Law Review.
