| Cary is a shareholder with a diverse litigation practice. After completing judicial clerkship in both state and federal courts, he served for two years as a public defender representing indigent criminal defendants in trials and appeals, including seven murder trials. Cary’s civil litigation practice has involved a variety of commercial disputes, contracts, civil rights, unfair business practices, trade secrets, and business-related torts. Cary also has extensive appellate experience in state and federal courts.
Cary is a member of the American Arbitration Association’s Commercial Panel of Arbitrators and the American Health Lawyers Association Panel of Neutrals. He has been listed in annual editions of The Best Lawyers in America in Commercial Litigation. Cary is also a life member of the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals Judicial Conference. He received the 2006 University of Toledo Distinguished Lawyer Award.
He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio University in 1964 and received a law degree summa cum laude from The University of Toledo in 1969. Cary was Editor of The University of Toledo Law Review.
