Sharon concentrates her practice in corporate law, commercial transactions, litigation and dispute resolution, employment and labor law. She provides advice and counsel to a variety of business clients including large manufacturing corporations and mid-size technology-based companies. Her litigation practice includes commercial, personal injury, and professonal malpractice cases. Before joining Cooper & Walinski in 2000, she was a solo practitioner and was previously in the legal department of Honeywell International Inc. At Honeywell she supervised litigation in product liability, commercial, environmental, employment, and toxic tort cases and was responsible for employment, commercial, and international law matters for the company's Automotive Sector. Prior to that assignment, she served in the corporate group where she worked on acquisitions, divestitures, mergers and corporate governance activities. Sharon worked extensively in Honeywell's legal compliance efforts as a member of the corporate compliance council; she was also instrumental in updating the corporate policies on proper business practices and developing training modules on legal topics.
She has taught graduate and undergraduate business law courses at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business and has lectured on employment law topics in the Business School's Executive Education program for new managers.
Sharon graduated magna cum laude from William Jewell College, received a Master of Arts degree from the University of Iowa, and received her law degree from Wayne State University in 1981, where she was Survey Editor of the Wayne Law Review.
