| Cooper & Walinski’s Litigation Management Practice Group has extensive experience in coordinating and managing pattern litigation for large corporate clients nationwide. Our highly-skilled team includes attorneys and paralegals with vast knowledge regarding all aspects of litigation as well as familiarity with plaintiffs’ counsel, experts, and courts throughout the United States.
Cooper & Walinski serves as national coordinating and discovery counsel for clients in product liability asbestos cases. In these roles, Cooper & Walinski:
- Assesses the client's defense-counsel-network to create litigation efficiencies and cost savings;
- Organizes, conducts, and participates in national and regional counsel meetings;
- Provides support for counsel nationwide, advising counsel regarding nationwide strategies, and coordinating communications among counsel;
- Analyzes and provides the evidence, argument, and history regarding reoccurring major discovery and litigation issues;
- Conducts product- and corporate-history investigations;
- Develops and implements nationwide strategies for discovery and litigation, including the drafting of written discovery responses;
- Coordinates responses to discovery and other motions, including summary judgment;
- Negotiates protective orders, releases, and settlement agreements nationwide;
- Identifies, develops, and prepares corporate and expert witnesses for deposition and trial;
- Conducts mock trials;
- Assists in developing trial strategies and trying cases, including direct participation in significant or potentially challenging trials;
- Approves defense counsel billings and addresses fee issues; and
- Harvests, organizes, analyzes, stores, and produces large quantities of the client's documents.
