Cooper & Walinski’s Litigation Management Practice Group has extensive experience in coordinating and managing pattern litigation for large corporate clients nationwide.  Our highly-skilled team includes attorneys and paralegals with vast knowledge regarding all aspects of litigation as well as familiarity with plaintiffs’ counsel, experts, and courts throughout the United States.

 

Cooper & Walinski serves as national coordinating and discovery counsel for clients in product liability and other matters.  In these roles, Cooper & Walinski:

  • Assesses and restructures the client's defense counsel network to create litigation efficiencies and cost savings;
  • Selects and retains appellate, regional, and local counsel on behalf of the client;
  • Organizes, conducts, and participates in national and regional counsel meetings;
  • Provides support for counsel nationwide, including acting as an intermediary between the client and counsel, advising counsel regarding nationwide strategies, and coordinating communications among counsel;
  • Writes white papers and trial modules for discovery and trial preparation that fully analyze and provide the evidence, argument, and history regarding reoccurring major discovery and litigation themes;
  • Conducts product investigations;
  • Develops and implements consistent and defensible nationwide discovery and litigation strategies, including the drafting of standardized written discovery responses;
  • Drafts and coordinates responses to discovery motions and written discovery responses nationwide;
  • Negotiates protective orders and releases and settlement agreements nationwide;
  • Identifies, develops, and prepares corporate and expert witnesses for deposition and trial;
  • Conducts mock trials;
  • Assists in developing trial strategies and trying cases, including direct participation in significant or potentially challenging trials;
  • Develops and implements effective corporate paper and electronic document retention policies;
  • Develops and implements trade secret policies and procedures;
  • Manages electronic discovery; and
  • Harvests, organizes, analyzes, and produces large quantities of paper and electronic documents nationwide.
