Joseph Wenzinger has been awarded the 2009 Cooper & Walinski prize for legal writing. The prize is given for briefs written by first-year law students as an exercise in their class on appellate advocacy. The winning brief is selected by The University of Toledo's legal-writing instructors.
Joseph received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration, magna cum laude, from Bowling Green State University in May 2008. He will be continuing his legal education at the University of Michigan.
Cooper & Walinski has always emphasized the importance of excellent writing skills for litigators. This prize is offered to impress that importance on students at The University of Toledo Law School. Prizewinners receive a cash award and books on legal writing authored by Bryan A. Garner, a nationally-recognized expert on the topic.
